Daytime Running Lights (DRL) Indicator
What Are Daytime Running Lights?
If you’re currently car shopping or looking over your owner’s manual, you might come across the term, Daytime Running lights (DTR). Newer year models tend to have these, as they are seen as a coveted feature.
The parking/daytime running lights come on only when the following parameters have been met:
- The headlight switch is off
- When the parking brake is released
- When the power mode is switched to ON
Daytime running lamps (DRL, also daytime running lights) are lighting devices that are on the front of a vehicle. Thanks to smart Honda engineering, these automotive lights automatically switch once the vehicle is set to drive. The lamps emit white, yellow, or amber lighting, which helps the driver with daytime visibility.
What Is The Purpose Of Daytime Running Lights?
Daytime Running Lights allow other drivers to see you on the road, which decreases the chances of collisions. The lights stay on even when the parking brake is activated. Once you turn your vehicle off, the daytime running lights will turn off as well. The daytime running lights can also turn off once the headlight switch turns on, or when the headlight switch is set to auto mode.
